This cherry, ebonized, and stainless steel desk was designed for a private client in Cambridge who required flexible storage solutions. This was to include systems filing and computer housing concealed within a modern design that retained classic style. Comfort and ergonomic design was a high priority, and above all else, the solution had to be hardwearing - durable no matter what the situation.

Our solution was a desk with twin pedestals, creating flexible and customisable storage while maintaining classic form and style. The left pedestal is designed to hold a computer, easily accessible behind the false drawer fronts, and a pull-out storage system for computer-related media. Power and communication cables are delivered through a floor unit, with cable management accessed through a secret door at the rear. The top conceals an aide-memoir. The ebonised corners highlight the strong architectural shape and include protectors at the top and base. The stainless steel detailing, along with the natural beauty of the cherry's colour and grain, shines through the finish, producing a unique desk that is as practical as it is beautiful.
